A ROUGH START ::
Bryon was born in Nagoya, a provence of Japan. His mother was an actress and his father a professional golfer, though Bryon would know neither. Bryon's mother, knowing she could not keep him due to family circumstances, was forced to give him up for adoption. He spent several nights in a Japanese orphanage until contact was made to Denny and Pauline Mengle (while they were attending a Seattle Seahawks game). Six months later, Pauline made the long trip to Japan to bring Bryon back to Washington.

GROWING UP ::
A Washington native, Bryon grew up in Federal Way where he attended elementary, junior and senior high. After graduating, Bryon attended Seattle Pacific University studying communications. Originally thinking he'd become an English teacher, Bryon's career path quickly changed in 1998 after an internship with Seattle radio station.

RADIO ::
Bryon has produced 3 morning shows in Seattle and produced and hosted 2 morning shows in Billings, MT and currently in Bend, OR. Throughout his career, Bryon has had his share of uniques experiences from stock car racing to reporting from the red carpet from the finales of American Idol and Survivor. In 2003, Bryon spent 2 weeks traveling around western Washington for Operation: Cookie Drop, collecting more than 10,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies that were later sent to the troops serving overseas.

LIFE AT HOME ::
Bryon and his wife, Shawna, met on a blind date on August 6, 2005. They were engaged on December 31, 2005 on Main Street in Disneyland and married on June 18, 2006. Almost a year later, Alyssa Grace Mengle made her much-anticipated debut [click here for pictures]. Bryon, Shawna, Alyssa and Toby the Beagle called Bend, Oregon their home - though they return to Seattle often to visit friends and family.

FUN FACTS ::
In late 2005, Bryon was an extra in a Seattle scene of ABC's Grey's Anatomy.
In 2003, Bryon was hired by World Wrestling Entertainment Wrestlemania 19 in Seattle.
In 2003 and 2004, Bryon hosted the Miss Washington Pageant.
While he's afraid of heights, Bryon loves to skydive (which he has done live on-air).
In 1998, Bryon threw the ceremonial first pitch at a Seattle Mariners game.
Disneyland is still his favorite vacation destination.
In 1999, Bryon raced a stockcar with professional drivers for a radio stunt.
